Modern, Vibrant + Simple Fall Wedding | J + P
It was behind cash wrap and over volcano candles.
That’s how we met. Jenny + I. She was an accomplished career woman already and I was just about to finish college and I was like ... one of us is not like the other. (AKA - what’s this smart lady doing working retail when she can make the $$$ already? My broke brain didn’t understand.)
What I did know is that she was fun + refreshing + literally made every overlapping shift we had about ... 392739 times more enjoyable.
Turns out she had left her previous career to pursue nursing + be able to step out to support people and patients in a way she couldn’t do before. (I meaaannnn, she looks like a sweet angel woman and she actually was, too.)
O B V I — the conversation about guys came up. I told her about the guy I was dating at the time, only a few months new, and she told me about her guy... who she’d been with for almost a decade. Again, I was like HA HA HA okay you’ve lapped me, a million times.
Togetherness forever? Yes. But, at the time she wasn’t sure when would happen. She said, “Maybe November 2020.”
I wasn’t even sure what I was going to do about my assignments I had to do that week, let alone what I would be doing 2 years from that conversation in Fall 2018. I told her that if I was still doing the wedding planner thing, I’d be her gal in a heart beat.
And so, when T H I S day happened after planning together for months, enduring a pandemic, Jenny starting as a nurse in the middle of it all + my bb wedding planner dreams becoming Grit and Grace, it was like holy heck — look what 2 years can do.
As we were planning, the focus was on vibrant colors from the florals + bringing the fall feel to life with a touch of modern details and tasteful personalization. Even in the midst of unprecedented circumstances + a much smaller guest count than anticipated, Jenny and Peter were radiant with joy and celebration.
