Sunshine-y, joyful, captivating wedding | L + L
When you're with them, you can feel it. The light, the love + the goodness. It's like sunshine is radiating out of them.
We had begun planning months before and we were settled on the details - with joy and anticipation for bringing the fairytale wedding to life that she had dreamt of her whole life. As COVID crept up, we were hopeful because June seemed like an eternity away. As the months passed without much change, we had to face the reality that the venue wasn't the opportunity it once was yet, there was no doubt that L + L were going to tie the knot on their day.
We dreamt, schemed and turned this backyard to dream wedding in 5 weeks.
5 weeks of envisioning how to accommodate with the pool, how to still pull together the liveliness that she had always dreamed + create enough space for the caterer to prepare their food.. and a million other things.
Here's what you need to know:
She has a sunshine and joyful nature that really unparalleled to any other I've met and his steadiness is unwavering. Together, in the same room, their love is unmistakable.
This wedding was one of the first of it's kind in my career and it brought me unthinkable joy to be part of it. L + L trusted me to listen, lean in and create at atmosphere of celebration, togetherness and joyful celebration in unconventional circumstances. It was new, to all of us. We had never planned a wedding in a pandemic, with the ceremony about a mile into the forest.
As we walked, holding her dress and moving with the speed of a gal who was ready to see her groom, there were cyclists, runners and hikers who would pass by and shout their congratulations, well wishes + sincere compliments.
I look back on this day with the utmost fondest and gratitude. At the end of the day, it was beautiful, captured their love with every element + honored their life together. Much like last year, it challenged me in a way I didn't anticipate, forced to think quick and create with intentionality without the gift of time. I opened new doors, new passions, new dreams that otherwise would have been untapped.
This was one of those days I'll remember forever + I am awfully grateful.
